Taxiway D hold points, taxiway e renamed to taxiway f

Work is continuing on the new taxiway, and we expect to be laying tarmac on the next section next week.

Our new signage for Taxiway D has now arrived, and is being installed. The runway holding point D has now been renamed D1.

A D2 hold has been added about 12 metres short of D1. It’s intended this will primarily be used by aircraft vacating the runway. Aircraft should hold D2 and, when ready to taxi to parking, call Blackbushe Information. By holding between D1 and D2, it allows the new Taxiway E alignment to continue to be used by other aircraft (once it’s open of course!)

D3 is sited at the intersection of Taxiway D and the old alignment of Taxiway E, now renamed Taxiway F.

E2 hold is at the intersection of the new Taxiway E alignment and Taxiway D.

The picture below shows the hold points:

new aip chart

A new AIP chart is available. This will formally be available in AIRAC cycle 04/2026 on 16th April 2026. It is already avaiable on the NATS AIP website and reproduced here below for you. It most accurately reflects the current aerodrome layout.

AIP Chart from cycle 04/2026

A NOTAM has been issued today, reflecting the change of holding point D to D1, and the renaming of the former Taxiway E to Taxiway F. This NOTAM will run until the AIRAC cycle comes into effect on 16th April.

We know this nomenclature will take some getting used to, by both pilots and FISOs. If in doubt as to your taxiway clearance, please clarify with the FISO before taxiing. Likewise, FISOs may ask you to correct any read back, whilst we all get used to this change.

We expect the new Taxiway E alignment to open sometime in April, and will update you when we have more information.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation whilst these works are ongoing. These have been carefully planned to minimise disruption to airport users. Please also exercise caution when taxiing, as some users may not be as familiar with the new layout.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
